Green Builder Media project seeks to gather the latest in smart home technologies
An innovative home retrofit project that seeks to showcase the latest in advanced smart home technologies will feature paints chosen from the Sherwin-Williams Living Well™ collection.
The project, known as the ReVISION House, will retrofit a 3,050-square-foot home in Scottsdale, Arizona, using products and technologies that optimize wellness and aesthetics. Building science expert Steve Easley and his wife, indoor air quality expert Susan Raterman, have teamed with Green Builder Media to coordinate the project, which is scheduled for completion in 2022. The project will also showcase cost-effective strategies for achieving sustainability and durability as well as maximizing use of renewable energy sources and efficient mechanical systems.
Areas such as bathrooms and laundry rooms in the ReVISION House will be finished with Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint with Sanitizing Technology*, according to Raterman. The product will kill 99.9 percent of Staph, MRSA and E. coli on painted surfaces within two hours of exposure. It will continue to kill 90 percent of bacteria for up to four years when the integrity of the surface is maintained.
Other interior rooms will be painted with SuperPaint® with Air Purifying Technology**. Featuring a zero-VOC formula, use of this product contributes to better indoor air quality by reducing VOC levels from other potential sources like carpet, cabinets and fabrics. It also helps rooms stay fresher, longer, with odor eliminating technology that breaks down unwanted household odors.
The products offer aesthetic benefits as well as wellness benefits, and that’s part of their appeal, according to Raterman. The SuperPaint products in use are part of Sherwin-Williams’ Living Well™ Collection, which features an exclusive color palette that includes carefully chosen colors to inspire and invite a sense or comfort, style, and well-being into the home.
“There are huge color possibilities with the Living Well collection of paints,” says Raterman. “I can’t deny that I’m excited about all the color options with this line, with more than 500 to choose from.”

**Reduces VOC levels from potential sources like carpet, cabinets and fabrics and works to reduce unwanted household odors. The length of time SuperPaint® with Air Purifying Technology Interior Acrylic Latex actively reduces odors and formaldehyde depends on the concentration, the frequency of exposure and the amount of painted surface area.
