Jobsite Safety: New Advances in Respirators

2 min read

Respiratory protection was challenging to come by in the past year, but that doesn’t make health and safety on the jobsite any less important.

Suppliers are refocused on jobsite protection, which means more ways for you and your crew to stay safe. Sherwin-Williams carries a full range of disposable and reusable respirators to help ensure that you and your crew stay safe.

Designed for comfort

The diversity of pro painters and craftsman – face sizes, profiles and shape – led 3M to develop a better disposable respirator. The 3M™ Aura Particulate Respirator 9205+, featuring a three-panel design and innovative chin tab, is their answer. As painters have started using these new respirators, they appreciate the added comfort when wearing them for long stretches of time.

The three-panel design is engineered to fit a wide range of face shapes and sizes. Its curved low-profile design conforms well to nose and eye contours, allowing more room for eyewear.

The chin tab is designed for ease of positioning, donning and adjustment. Soft inner materials feel comfortable against the skin.

In addition, the adjustable nose clip helps provide a custom, secure seal. The respirator is designed to direct exhaled air away from the nose panel, which helps reduce eyewear fogging.

Performance and safety matters

Comfort doesn’t change the performance of the 3M Aura Particulate Respirator 9205+ – it still is N95 and meets the jobsite needs of most paint pros.

The new Aura respirator is NIOSH approved for at least 95 percent filtration efficiency against certain non-oil-based particles.

Use it for grinding, sanding, sweeping, bagging and other dusty or arid operations. It will help filter certain airborne particles including dust and debris, smoke, smog, pet dander and germs.
