Kristina Kuddar, owner of Kuddar Paintz, located about 13 miles west of Philadelphia in Media, Pennsylvania, has been one of the early adopters of this new coatings technology. We sat down with her to learn how Forte is helping her be more productive and get great results for her customers.
How did you first hear about Forte?
I first heard about Forte through my local Sherwin-Williams store when I learned they had a new paint coming out. My store manager, Ed, told me about it, and I was immediately interested in trying it because of how versatile it was and the range of applications it could be used for.
On what types of jobs have you been using it?
I’ve been able to use Forte on a variety of different projects and surfaces. I’ve used it on a concrete basement floor, a front porch walkway, stair treads, handrails and even traditional baseboards.
I also have an upcoming exterior handrail project where I plan to use Forte again. Being able to use one product across so many different applications has been a huge benefit for me as a contractor.
Can you tell me more about the basement job?
For this project, I chose Forte because the basement is a living space, but the floor was exposed concrete. The client needed a new refresh, but also the durability of a paint that furniture could go on top and that kids could run across with no problem. I knew Forte was the perfect selection for this job and it turned out looking great, meeting all the client’s future needs for this space.
Overall, what would you say is the major benefit of using Forte?
For me, one of the biggest benefits is its versatility across different substrates and its strong adhesion. As a painter, having a product I can confidently use for multiple applications makes my job a lot easier.
But the feature that really stands out to me is the quick drying time. Time is money in this business, so being able to get to that second coat faster can make a huge difference in the efficiency of a job.
I also like the simplicity of being able to reach for Forte and know I have a product that can handle the job without needing a different paint for every surface.
Would you recommend Forte to other contractors?
Yes, I would absolutely recommend Forte to other contractors. It’s a versatile, multipurpose paint that can be used for both interior and exterior projects, offers great adhesion and dries quickly.
For me, it’s the kind of paint I want to keep stocked in my work van because of how many different applications it can handle. Instead of carrying multiple specialty paints for different surfaces, I can have Forte on hand and know I’m prepared for a wide range of projects.
