Your customer says they want “white trim.” As a professional painting contractor, you know that’s often easier said than done.
Cool whites, warm whites, timeless whites … there are literally dozens of whites to choose from in the Sherwin-Williams color collection. Here’s a handy way to make the color decision process go faster so you can get on with the painting.
1. Narrow it down
Start by selecting four different whites. For our example here, we are going with four of the most popular Sherwin-Williams whites:
- Pure White (SW 7005)
- White Snow (SW 9541)
- Cheviot (SW 9503)
- Natural White (SW 9542)
2. Paint some samples
Next, get a piece of trim that you can cut into four equal lengths. You could also use a piece of drywall and divide it into four equal pieces about the width of a typical residential trim.
Paint each with one of the whites you have selected. Quart-sized Sherwin-Williams Color to Go® paint samples are a great way to create your test swatches.
3. Compare on the job site
Mark each sample with the color name and code and add them to your toolbox. Bring them out at your customer’s home to give them an easy way to see how each color looks in their room and with their lighting.
Given these options, the chances are good that your customer will pick one. It’s a fast and effective way to streamline the color selection process and get you and your crew started on the job.
