Orlando is known as “The City Beautiful,” so it stands to reason that any new construction in the central Florida city is held to an extremely high standard.
The Project
It was in this competitive environment that the Rialto luxury apartments were built.
The five-story complex combines an ideal downtown location (minutes from Walt Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios and the Orange County Convention Center) with high-class amenities like a revolutionary fitness center, a tech-centric resident lounge with a Starbucks coffee kiosk – even a wine room.
Designed to impress the most selective resident, the trendsetting luxury residential space also required top-performing coatings in a range of colors.
The Painter
The painting contractor was Structural Contractors South (SCS), which supplies painting and drywall services to multi-family clients throughout the Southeastern United States.
The Orlando-based firm is affiliated with Atlanta-based SWET Construction Group, which handles all aspects of renovation and repair services. Together the two companies offer complete interior and exterior finish packages to clients from new construction to rehab and remediation.
Sean McGahee was the project manager on the Rialto job.
The Paint
Sherwin-Williams products were used on every aspect of the project. On the exteriors, SCS applied SuperPaint® Exterior Acrylic Latex Satin Paint.
Formulated with Advanced Resin Technology for excellent adhesion and hide, SuperPaint Exterior Paint provides excellent coverage, durability and dirt resistance. And, even more importantly in a challenging climate like central Florida’s, it is also a mildew-resistant coating.
The interior rooms at the Rialto were finished with Sherwin-Williams ProMar® 200 Zero VOC Interior Latex Paint. The flat sheen was used on walls, with semi-gloss on trim.
Delivering maximum productivity with exceptional durability and touch-up, ProMar 200 Zero VOC also offers easy application and excellent hide.
It meets the most stringent VOC requirements and complies with LEED, MPI, GREENGUARD, Environmental Institute (GEI) and other green guidelines and regulations. In addition, anti-microbial agents inhibit the growth of mold and mildew on the paint surface.
Its outstanding touch-up reduces repaint costs and, just as important in the Rialto project, ProMar® 200 Zero VOC is available in all colors including deep, vivid accents.
