Cool Pool: A Colorful Pro Industrial™ Paint Job in Tennessee

Experience helps land high school project

Over the years, the company has done a wide variety of commercial and industrial painting, including schools, hotels, offices, churches, and healthcare and assisted living facilities, as well as several Food City supermarket locations.

They were recently called on by general contractor BurWil Construction to paint the swimming pool facility at Tennessee High School in Bristol, Tenn.

Prepped and primed for high performance

Before any paint was applied, the entire interior of the pool room was pressure washed.

Structural steel was primed with Kem Kromik Universal Metal Primer. Pre-finished metal was primed with Pro Industrial™ Pro-Cryl® Universal Acrylic Primer.

For the topcoat, Pro Industrial™ Water Based Catalyzed Epoxy was chosen for its exceptional durability and resistance to corrosion, chemicals and abrasion.

“It is a LEED certified product that will hold up to the chemical exposure, and at the same time allowed school to be in session while product was being applied,” says Aaron Jamerson, the local Sherwin-Williams sales rep.

Offering easy application comparable to that of architectural coatings, it provides efficiency and performance without sacrificing aesthetics.

Bottom line: cool look, happy painters

The crew really liked using this Pro Industrial product.

“The epoxy was really easy to work with,” says Bill Watson, project manager at Woods Paint Company. “It went on much like a traditional paint and covered really well.”

Woods Paint Company crews also painted the sweeping multi-colored graphic designs on the pool walls.
